Globy Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
The short version
- What you type stays on your iPhone. The keyboard sends text only when you ask it to translate.
- Text you translate goes to a translation service — Google Translate, or an AI model through our server — and comes straight back. We don't save it.
- No accounts, ads or tracking. A random ID, not linked to your name or Apple Account, tells our server whether you have Globy Premium, and goes with a few basic usage events that show us where the setup loses people.
- We keep very little: how many translations each random ID made a day, for a week; usage events, for 12 months; your purchase history, kept by RevenueCat, which manages subscriptions for us; and problem reports you choose to send, with an optional email address, for 12 months.
- You can ask us to delete anything we hold by writing to info@iltpv.com.
The rest of this page explains each point in detail.
Who we are
Globy (the app and its keyboard, called AI Translator Keyboard: Globy on the App Store) is made by ILTPV Apps ("we," "our," or "us"). We decide how the data described here is used, and we are responsible for it. You can reach us at info@iltpv.com.
This policy covers Globy only. Our other apps and this website are covered by our general Privacy Policy. Your use of Globy is also governed by its Terms of Use.
What stays on your iPhone
Most of what Globy handles never leaves your device:
- Your keystrokes. The keyboard does not send what you type anywhere. Word predictions and autocorrection run on your iPhone.
- Learned words. To improve predictions, the keyboard remembers words and short phrases you use, such as names and slang. They are stored only on your iPhone. The keyboard doesn't learn from password fields, one-time codes, usernames, email addresses, web addresses, phone numbers or card numbers, or from fields where the app you're typing in has turned autocorrection off. You can erase learned words at any time in Settings › Reset learned words.
- Your settings and language pairs, which the app and the keyboard share on your iPhone.
- Whether you have Globy Premium, and how many free translations you've made today, which the app shares with the keyboard so it knows whether it can translate.
- Copied text. The keyboard only checks whethersomething has been copied. It sees the text itself only when you tap the Paste button iOS shows in the keyboard, and keeps it on your iPhone so it can show it to you.
- A short list of recent errors, such as "translate: HTTP 502", with the time each happened. It never contains your text, and it is sent to us only if you include diagnostics in a problem report.
In password fields, iOS always switches to the system keyboard, so Globy never sees passwords. Deleting the app removes all of this data from your iPhone.
Full Access
Translation happens online, and iOS lets a keyboard use the internet only with Full Access turned on. Full Access also lets the keyboard share settings with the app.
When you turn it on, iOS warns that a keyboard with Full Accesscould send anything you type. Globy uses it only as this policy describes: to send the text you ask it to translate, and nothing else. Without Full Access the keyboard still types and predicts, but it can't translate, and nothing leaves your iPhone. You can turn Full Access off at any time in the iOS Settings app, under General › Keyboard › Keyboards.
Text you translate
When text is sent
The keyboard sends text over the internet only when you ask it to:
- when you tap Translate, it sends the text you have written;
- when you open a message you've copied, it sends that message to translate it into your language.
Each request carries the text (up to 3,000 characters) and the language codes for the translation. A request to our server also carries the random ID described under Purchases and subscriptions, so the server can check whether you have Globy Premium and count your free translations. No request carries your name, an account, an advertising identifier or anything else that tells us who you are.
Where it goes
- Google Translate. Your iPhone first asks Google Translate directly. Google handles the text under the Google Privacy Policy.
- Our server, if Google doesn't answer. The text then goes to our server, which is run by Supabase. It passes the text to OpenRouter, a service that routes it to an AI model — currently Google's Gemini — and passes the translation back to you.
What is kept
We don't save the text you translate, and our server doesn't write it to its logs. The keyboard remembers recent translations only while it is open, so it doesn't have to ask twice; they are gone once it closes.
Without Globy Premium you get a few free translations a day. To enforce this, our server counts how many translations each random ID makes through it each day. A count holds only the day, the ID and a number, never any text, and is deleted after 7 days.
OpenRouter doesn't store the text. The AI model provider may keep it for a short time to detect abuse, under its own policy, and may not use it to train its models. Google Translate handles text under Google's policy, as above.
Like any website you visit, each of these services sees your device's IP address when it connects. Our server keeps standard technical logs, such as the time and outcome of a request, for a few days to keep the service running. We don't use IP addresses to identify you.
The app's onboarding translates a built-in sample message the same way, to show you how the keyboard works. That message is ours, not yours.
Problem reports
If something goes wrong, you can send us a report from Settings › Report a problem, or from the keyboard. A report is sent only when you tap Send, and it contains:
- Your message.
- Your email address, if you add one. It's optional, and we use it only to reply to you.
- A random install ID. The app makes it up the first time you send a report and keeps it on your iPhone. It doesn't identify you; we use it only to limit how many reports one install can send, so the form can't be used to flood us.
- Diagnostics, unless you turn them off with the Include diagnostics switch on the form: the app and iOS versions, your iPhone model, the app's language and your iPhone's first three languages, your current language pair and how many pairs you have, the keyboard's settings, whether the keyboard is added and when it last opened with Full Access, and the list of recent errors described above. Diagnostics never include what you type.
- A translation, if you report one. When you report a translation from the keyboard's copied-text card, the report includes the copied text and its translation (up to 2,000 characters each) and their languages, so we can see what went wrong. You can remove it from the report before you send it.
Reports are stored in our database at Supabase and emailed to us through Resend, an email delivery service. We read them only to fix problems and to answer you.
Emails you send us
If you write to us — for example with Settings › Contact us — we receive your email address and whatever your message contains. We use them only to reply and to help you.
How the app is used
To see where people get stuck setting Globy up, the app sends our server a few events, each with the random ID, the time and the app's version:
- that the app was opened, and the first time it was;
- which onboarding screen was reached, and that onboarding was finished;
- your answers in onboarding: the language you write in, the languages you translate into, and the kinds of apps you picked, such as messengers or email;
- that the Premium offer was shown, where from, and whether it was closed, a plan bought or one restored;
- that the keyboard was added, that it was given Full Access, and when the number of translations made reached 1, 5, 20 and 100.
Events never hold what you type, copy or translate, or anything that names you. We build them into our own statistics on our own server; they aren't shared with analytics or advertising companies, and they are deleted after 12 months.
What we don't collect
- No accounts or sign-up: we never ask for your name, phone number or address.
- No third-party analytics, crash-reporting or attribution software. The usage events above go only to our own server, and RevenueCat, described below, is used only for subscriptions.
- No advertising, no advertising identifier, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- We don't sell your data or share it for advertising.
Purchases and subscriptions
Globy offers Globy Premium, an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. Your payment details and Apple Account are handled entirely by Apple and are never visible to us. Apple gives us sales reports through App Store Connect that don't identify individual customers.
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. When the app starts, RevenueCat gives your install a random ID. The ID isn't linked to your name, email address or Apple Account. RevenueCat receives that ID, the purchase records Apple provides for it, and technical details such as the app and iOS versions, your iPhone model, its language and region, and your IP address. It then tells the app and our server whether Globy Premium is active.
In RevenueCat we can see each random ID's purchase history: which plan, when it started, renewed or was cancelled, its price and the App Store country. We use this only to give you Premium, to restore your purchases, to help you when you write to us, and to see how subscriptions are doing. We can't tell who is behind an ID.
Services we use
These services process data on our behalf, or on yours when your iPhone reaches them directly. Each works under its own privacy policy.
- Google Translate — translates text you send, directly from your iPhone. Privacy policy
- Supabase — runs our server and stores problem reports, daily translation counts and usage events. Privacy policy
- OpenRouter — passes text from our server to an AI model for translation. Privacy policy
- The AI model provider (currently Google, for Gemini) — produces those translations. Privacy policy
- RevenueCat — manages subscriptions and keeps purchase history for each random ID. Privacy policy
- Resend — delivers problem reports to our inbox. Privacy policy
- Apple — distributes the app and processes purchases. Privacy policy
We give each provider only the data it needs to do its job. Supabase, OpenRouter, RevenueCat and Resend work for us under their terms with us: they may use that data only to provide their service to us, and they must protect it at least as well as this policy describes.
We may change these providers over time, for example to use a different AI model. If a change affects what happens to your data, we will update this page first.
Where your data is processed
These services run servers in the United States and other countries, so text you translate, purchase history and reports you send may be processed outside the country you live in. Where the law requires it — for example for data from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland — these transfers rely on the safeguards the providers offer, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
- Text you translate: not kept by us.
- Daily translation counts: 7 days.
- Usage events: deleted automatically after 12 months.
- Purchase history at RevenueCat: as long as we offer the subscription, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Problem reports: deleted automatically 12 months after they arrive, or sooner if you ask.
- Emails, including the copy of each report sent to our inbox: kept as long as we need them to deal with your request, and deleted when you ask.
- Server logs: a few days.
- Data on your iPhone: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
Legal bases
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the law asks us to name a reason for each use of your data:
- Translating: to provide the service you asked for.
- Subscriptions and the free daily limit, including the random ID, purchase history and daily translation counts: to provide the service you asked for, with or without Globy Premium.
- Problem reports and emails: our legitimate interest in fixing problems and answering you. Adding your email address to a report is your choice.
- Usage events: our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is set up and used, so we can make it easier. You can object by writing to us, and we will delete the events for your random ID.
- Server logs and limits on reports: our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and working.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA — you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how we use it. In practice, what we hold is in problem reports and emails, a week of daily translation counts, usage events, and the purchase history RevenueCat keeps for your random ID. To use any of these rights, write to info@iltpv.com. It helps to tell us the email address you used, roughly when you sent the report, or, for purchases, the order ID from Apple's receipt email. Deleting purchase history doesn't cancel a subscription; manage that in your Apple Account settings. We reply within 30 days, and we won't treat you differently for asking.
You can also, at any time:
- turn Full Access off, and the keyboard stops sending anything;
- erase learned words in Settings › Reset learned words;
- turn off Include diagnostics, or leave out your email, when you send a report;
- delete the app to remove everything it keeps on your iPhone.
If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Security
All requests are encrypted with HTTPS. Problem reports, daily translation counts and usage events are stored in a database that only our server can read; the app itself can't read them back. Data on your iPhone is protected by iOS: encryption, the app sandbox, and your passcode or Face ID. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum, so there is little to expose.
Children
Globy is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has sent us a problem report or an email, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when the app or the services it uses change, and revise the effective date at the top. If a change affects how your data is handled in a significant way, we'll also tell you in the app.
